In the city of Winnetka, Illinois, which is located near Chicago, stands the legendary house from the movie "Home Alone." By the way, next year the picture marks the 30th anniversary.

The address of the house is Lincoln Avenue, 671. Nearby is the famous Lake Michigan. After the film’s great success, “Kevin’s House” became a state landmark.

Three-story red brick mansion with a total area of 390 square meters. m was built at the beginning of the XX century. A truly luxurious house made in Georgian style. It has four bedrooms, five bathrooms, a separate garage and a greenhouse. And the entire plot has an area of 0.2 hectares.

The film was shot a year and a half. The owners of the house, the Abendshin family, did not go anywhere and could take a double for a double to observe the filming process. All work took place only in the kitchen, hall with stairs, basement and several more rooms. Devastating scenes were filmed in an empty New Trier school. During the filming, the daughter of the owners made friends with the main actor - Macaulay Kalkin. The Abendshin family itself acquired a house in 1988 for $ 875 thousand.

In 2011, the head of the family made a statement that they were going to sell the house for $ 2.4 million. He said that their daughter now lives separately, and he and his wife do not need so much space. And in May 2012, the house was sold for only $ 1.585 million.
