7 ways to make a designer chandelier from things that are always at hand

If you want to make a vintage chandelier, you don’t have to spend a lot of money on it. We will give you some ideas on how to use this simple thing you can always find on hand.
From plastic bottles
From the bottoms and necks of plastic bottles you can assemble an original cover for any lamp. To make such a lamp is not difficult, just follow this instruction:
- Prepare a sufficient number of bottles of the same color and shape.
- Trim the bottoms with the necks and glue them into a large ball using special glue for plastic.
- Instead of glue, the elements can be fastened with a thin wire.
- When collecting plastic elements together, leave a small hole in the upper part of the ball through which the ceiling will be worn on the base of the lamp.
- Fasten the product firmly with wire.
Do not forget that under the influence of high temperature plastic can become very hot and melt. Therefore, be sure to choose a bulb with a low level of heating.
From glass bottles
Prepare several wine bottles of the same color, and follow this instruction:
- Clean the surface of the bottles from paper labels, cut their bottoms with a glass cutting machine and work on sharp edges with emery.
- Pass a wire through the neck of each bottle and connect cartridges.
- After that, attach all the glass containers to the wooden base and screw the bulbs into the lampholders.
Such a lamp will look good in the kitchen, decorated in the style of "loft".
From the globe
You can give a second life to the old globe by transforming it into an original lampshade:
- Gently cut the globe in half.
- Make a small hole in its upper part.
- Fix the lamp on the lamp.
To make the product look more attractive, decorate the bottom edge of the globe with suitable decorative elements.
From threads
Prepare the threads, yarn or twine, PVA glue, inflatable ball and follow this instruction:
- Inflate the balloon to the desired size.
- Draw a circle in its upper part, the diameter of which corresponds to the bulb holder.
- Draw a larger circle at the bottom of the ball.
- Saturate the threads with glue and wrap the ball around them, avoiding the surface of the drawn circles.
- When the glue is completely dry, deflate the ball and remove it from the lampshade.
- Carefully fasten the lampholder with the lamp in the filament “ceiling” - and the chandelier is ready.
If you wish, you can decorate the product with any decorative elements or paint it in a different color using spray paint.
From the basket
This is another easy way to craft an unusual chandelier. To do this, find the basket of the appropriate shape and do the following:
- Pull the wire through the bottom of the basket.
- Connect the bulb holder to the wire.
- The chandelier is ready.
Try to carefully and firmly attach the cartridge to the wire, otherwise the design will not support the weight of the basket. In addition, the basket itself should not be too heavy.
From paper
Paper is another material from which you can make a simple and original chandelier. Prepare the wire, strong paper and follow these instructions:
- Twist the wire frame into a suitable size.
- It should be in the form of a cylinder, consisting of two small hoops, interconnected by long pieces of wire.
- Cut the paper into many identical stripes.
- Attach the finished strips to the frame using glue or a stapler.
- When the paper lampshade is ready, connect the lamp holder to the lamp and the chandelier is ready.
Please note that such a product can be cleaned of dust only with a dry rag or brush, otherwise the paper will get wet and the lampshade will be damaged.
From fabric
The easiest way to make such a lamp is using a frame from an old lampshade. But if you wish, you can make your own frame of the desired shape using ordinary wire. When the lampshade base is ready, do the following:
- Choose a suitable fabric and cut out from it the details that are in shape suitable for the lampshade.
- Glue the finished rag details to the frame.
- Hide the seams with a decorative edging.
- Decorate the edge of the product with a fringe.
- When the glue is completely dry, attach the lampshade to the lamp.
Also, as a decor, you can use braid, lace and satin ribbons. By choosing an option suitable for yourself, the idea can be finalized at your discretion.
