A selection of tricks to add space to a small bedroom

A small bedroom is easy to make more spacious, using several design techniques to visually increase the space.
Bright hues
The right choice of colors will help to expand the space quickly. To decorate wall surfaces, choose warm tones of light pastel colors.
If a monochrome interior is not your option, use the accent wall technique. In small bedrooms, this allows you to solve two problems: to dilute the plain surfaces with contrast and visually give the space depth. The best option is to emphasize the wall farthest from the entrance to create a sense of perspective. It can be painted with a more saturated color or decorated with wallpaper. Choose a picture that visually expands the wall or increases its height.
You can "push" the walls of the room and work with the ceiling. You will achieve the desired effect using stretch ceilings - glossy surfaces also expand the room.
Geometric patterns on light floor surfaces will also help to make a room longer or wider, but the color of the patterns must necessarily be neutral tones, without sharp contrasts. For small areas, dark floors are contraindicated because they visually narrow the room.
Minimalistic design
The basis for the design of the room should be functionality, simplicity and conciseness. An abundance of decor is unacceptable in the style, and luxury and comfort are created due to correctly selected elements.
You can lay pillows and a plaid in bright colors on the bed, decorate the walls with a panel, a mirror or black and white photos.
Furniture should be simple and comfortable, without decor and “curls”. It is acceptable to use fresh flowers, decorate the table with a flowering decorative plant.
In the design of the windows, avoid heavy draperies. Small spaces need maximum natural light, so pay attention to Roman curtains, blinds, light tulle. The priority is shades of cream, white and ivory, they increase the flow of natural light, expanding the room.
Add more mirrors
From a small room you can easily make a spacious room with the help of mirrors. The classic version is mirrored cabinet doors. You can also install mirrors in front of the window to add perspective or mount mirror panels to the entire wall. The main thing is not to overdo it; an excess of mirror surfaces can cause depressive states.
Small chandeliers
A chandelier in design is not a trifle, it can emphasize the style and individuality of the owner of the apartment or destroy the integrity of the interior concept. In a small bedroom, ceiling chandeliers in the form of small shades or plates are perfectly accustomed to. Luxurious pendant chandeliers should be discarded; in small areas, they look bulky and ridiculous.
When choosing a chandelier, focus on the main tone of the room - for light walls you will need lamps with less power, which create a soft and warm stream of light.
More lighting
A room with good lighting looks bigger. Ensure free flow of sunlight by removing flower pots, books, and other little things from window sills.
For artificial lighting, use spotlights, built-in lights, hidden cornice lights, wall and table lights, sconces. To visually increase the height of the walls, direct the light up.
