How is the septic tank DKS arranged and how?
The production of septic tanks of this brand is organized by the developer from sheet polypropylene, the thickness of which varies from 5 to 8 mm.
The design can conditionally be divided into three main parts:
- I chamber serves as the primary settler;
- II chamber is given under the secondary sump;
- III camera is used to accommodate the biofilter.
Waste water flows through the inlet pipe (1) into the primary sump and is divided into heavy (3) and light (2) fractions in it. Overflow (4), connecting the primary and secondary sedimentation tanks, is located at the level of one third of the height of the tanks. Due to this arrangement in the second chamber, the content of impurities in household wastewater is noticeably lower than in the first. In this case, the process of settling and clarification of sewage water continues in the second chamber.

In the containers of the septic tank, along with the mechanical separation of impurities, the process of their anaerobic digestion is ongoing, and the presence of oxygen is not required. During the reaction, methane is released, so often such facilities are called methane tanks. Methanogenic bacteria present in feces are involved in the decomposition of contaminants during the metabolism.
The spread of unpleasant odors from the location of the septic tank is prevented by water gates that reliably overlap both settling chambers.
Further movement of clarified effluents inside the septic tank goes through the overflow pipe (5) into the biofilter, while their mixing and disturbance are excluded. Using a removable drip spray mounted on an overflow pipe, the water is evenly distributed over the entire brush load (7). Previously, the manufacturer used expanded clay instead of a ruff. Water is saturated with oxygen on the surface of the ruff; therefore, aerobic bioflora is formed, which develops well under favorable conditions.
The correct operation of the biofilter is ensured by a pipe with a head (9), through which air is supplied, which is necessary to maintain the vital activity of aerobic microorganisms.
The sewage passed through the biofilter enters the drainage system (11), while the sump (8) and the outlet pipe, indicated by the number 10 in the diagram, are bypassed.The perforated pipe is used as a drainage system in the above scheme, through the openings of which the clarified drains enter the soil, where they undergo final infiltration. Through the neck (12), the sediment accumulated at the bottom of the first and second chambers is periodically removed. Inspection and maintenance of the septic tank is carried out through the second neck (13).
In winter, to prevent freezing of containers, the manufacturer recommends to deepen the structure using the neck extension kit shown in the diagram under number 14. This kit is purchased separately if necessary.
