Instruction for owners of stove-heated houses

Stoves in homes and saunas often do not meet fire safety requirements, which often ends in tragedy. The main causes of fires are improper installation of furnaces and non-compliance with safety rules during use.
A harmless at first glance trifle can lead to trouble: a crack in the stove or chimney, the absence of a metal pre-heating sheet or linen hung near the firebox. Because of this, you run the risk of losing your property and roof over your head overnight, losing family and friends.
How to avoid a house fire?
- Stoves and chimneys must be in good condition, without cracks, plastered and whitewashed.
- During the heating season, chimneys must be cleaned of soot at least once every two months.
- Chimneys and stoves must be made of non-combustible materials. To protect wall structures and ceilings, retreats and cutting from non-combustible materials are necessary.
- In attic rooms, the installation of horizontal smoke burs is prohibited.
- A metal sheet 50x70 cm in size should be nailed in front of the furnace door.
Forbidden!
- Operate stoves with cracks and loose-fitting furnace doors.
- Use flammable liquids for ignition: gasoline, kerosene, etc.
- Dry on the stove and near it firewood, shoes, clothes, put furniture.
- Leave the heating furnace unattended and instruct the children to look after it.
If a fire or signs of burning (smoke, burning smell, temperature increase, etc.) are detected, immediately inform the telephone of the fire and rescue service of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia 101. It is necessary to indicate the address of the object and the place of the fire, and provide your name. If possible, evacuate people, try to put out the fire and preserve material values.
