Which pumping station to choose for water supply at home?

This winter, due to severe frost, the pumping station failed. Advise which pump station to choose for the system: a well with a submersible pump, a storage tank of 300 liters. Station to create pressure at home water system. Value for money is a priority. Thank!

Expert Answer

Vladimir Evgenievich, pumping stations are designed for lifting water from a depth of at least 8 meters. Since in your case the unit will work in tandem with a storage tank, and, therefore, the suction section will be small, any pumping station of the required capacity will do.

It is not clear why it was necessary to block the garden with a storage tank, because the use of a hydraulic accumulator paired with a submersible pump allows us to solve the problem of water supply without an additional vessel. Perhaps in your area electricity is often cut off and you want to have a constant supply of water?

We recommend that you build a domestic water supply system using a good submersible pump and a hydraulic accumulator with automatic equipment, which can be mounted in the basement or in the kitchen. As for autonomy, the issue of emergency water supply during a power outage is quite simply solved by a system consisting of a powerful 220-volt inverter and a battery removed from the car.

If you still decide to stop on the option of restoring the existing scheme, we recommend that you take a closer look at the pumping stations of Gardena or AL-KO firms. They work no worse than branded Wilo and Grundfos, but have a more affordable cost.
