Why the water supply system at home does not start

Water supply in the country. Scheme: a 5-6 m well, a filter and a non-return valve at the top inside the concrete ring, articulation with a pipe to the house. The house has a pumping station. As the master instructed, for the winter he drained the water from the highway, disconnected the pipeline from the station. Question: I can not start the system. All connected, flooded the water. What could be the problem?

Scheme of starting a water supply system at home

To start the system, you first need to fill the pump and line with water

Alexey Alexandrovich, the pump does not work for the simple reason that you could not expel all the air on the suction line - it does not allow you to create the vacuum necessary for the operation of the unit.
To start the system, it is convenient to use one of the schemes shown in the figure.
As can be seen in these illustrations, a separate branch is arranged at the suction section with a ball valve and a funnel or a tank for filled water.
The initial start-up process of the pumping station is performed according to the following algorithm:

  1. Open the filler (shut-off) valve and fill the pump and line with water. It is advisable to unscrew the plug on the pump itself and check the degree of filling (liquid without air should go out of the plug). Replenish the funnel stop only when the water ceases to leave it.
  2. The shut-off valve is closed and the unit is turned on. At the initial moment, it will create a normal pressure, but as soon as the sound starts to change and pressure drops, you must immediately open the tap, filling the pump with liquid. After the pressure is restored, the valve is closed and water is added to the funnel. At the next “breakdown” of pressure, the replenishment procedure of the unit is resumed.
  3. The “resuscitation” process is repeated until a stable operation of the pumping station is achieved.
It is possible to do without constant replenishment of the funnel, using a filling tank of sufficient volume (as in the figure on the right). This will reduce the number of recharge cycles, as the valve can be kept open until a steady pressure is obtained. After this, the valve must be shut off, preventing the upper air intake.
