Norms for installing water meters

Hello! When installing counters, they previously required 12 cm from the filter to the counter. Now you need to comply with this norm?

Good afternoon, Harutyun.

According to SNiP 2.04.01-85 11.6. on each side of the water meter, direct sections of pipelines should be provided, the length of which is determined in accordance with state standards for water meters (vane and turbine).
According to the norms, the distance from any element of the system to the meter for measuring the amount of water should be at least 5 pipe diameters, by which it is connected. After the counter, this distance is reduced to 2 diameters. In this case, it is possible to avoid various turbulences and turbulences that affect the measurement accuracy. If your meter and filter are connected by a pipe with a diameter of 1˝, then the requirements of the water utility workers are absolutely legal.
