Will there be water in place of a large rock?

Hello! Tell me, please, from practice, will there be water in the well after a huge stone?

I'll tell you in order: they dug a well with a drilling rig. Workers started in the morning and we dreamed that in the evening we would try our water. We dug 11 m and hit a stone. They said that their drilling machine does not hammer a stone, decide to either fill it up, or call the craftsmen who will remove the stone. Well, 11 m is not 2 m, I did not want to fall asleep, we decided to call the masters. Well, they put 11 rings, with a diameter of 1.20 m, took the money and left. Before that, they checked the terrain for water with aluminum frames. After that they brought the dowser. Both said that the water at this place is 100%. The craftsmen arrived that hammer the stone. First there was a stone with lamellar clay, 2 m, then went solid gray, like fences are built. They beat him with a chipper, chopped off in large pieces. This stone was a little more than 1 m. Then a little clay with shell rock and again a hard stone, but already red. They have been hammering it for a week, with a chipper, with 2 compressors of 4 kW each, it breaks up into small pieces, forms strong dust. Already 15 m, but no water. On the 13th, two teardrops appeared, like dew and all. Does it make sense to hammer further? The neighbors have nearby, in some 14 m - a well, water 3 m, and in others - a well - 10 m, water - 1.5 m. Those that also had a stone, but only 1.70 m, but also there was water 50 cm of the stone, the stone was hollowed out and it became 1.5 m. What should we do? We are looking forward to your reply! And thank you in advance!

Expert Answer

Hello Olga. In most cases, if there are other wells nearby, drilling gives a positive result. Nevertheless, no one can guarantee a positive result. It was a mistake to install rings in a penetration that reached the stone, since a well is not a well, it is designed for groundwater, not interstratal water. It would be most correct to conduct exploratory drilling and to carry out basic work based on its results.
