Can polymer sand rings be used to build a cesspool

Hello! Is it possible to use polymer sand rings for a cesspool on a summer cottage? Thank!

Expert Answer

Hello, Ivan!
The use of polymer sand rings as a material for the construction of a cesspool is not only possible, but also justified for many reasons.
Firstly, you win during transportation and installation. Unlike concrete rings and caps, which have a weight of more than 500 kg, the mass of any products from a sand-filled composite rarely exceeds 50 kg. Therefore, you will not need the services of expensive cranes, hoisting mechanisms or heavy vehicles. All elements of the sewage collector can be transported by car with a trailer and installed together with an assistant.
Secondly, in contrast to concrete, the polymer-sand composition practically does not absorb moisture, and, therefore, is not so susceptible to structural changes during freezing in the winter. The new material also copes well with various aggressive substances, which are contained in large quantities in wastewater. As a result, composite rings can last twice as long as the highest quality concrete structures. Indirectly, the high reliability of such structures is also evidenced by the warranty period of operation, which manufacturers establish for a period of up to 100 years.
Thirdly, due to the high accuracy of the manufacture of rings, they can be used to mount fairly tight systems. Moreover, the plasticity of the material allows you to maintain the water resistance of the tank, even on moving soils.
And the last thing I would like to note is the simplicity of making various technological holes - you can cut a hole for sewer pipes in a polymer with any household tool.
As you can see, polymer sand rings are almost ideal material for the construction of a cesspool. If you have the means and capabilities, then be sure to use them - the result will exceed any expectations.
