Expert Answer
Good afternoon, Ilya.
Technology soldering of polyethylene pipes with polypropylene fittings is not provided. The connection of elements from plastics of various types is best done by fittings provided for each material. Even if the junction is in the ground, brass threaded parts will be able to ensure its operability for decades.
If there is no other way, you can try to solder these parts together using a soldering iron for polypropylene. Both of these materials have a similar chemical composition and close melting point — polyethylene 473–523 ° С (depending on density), and polypropylene – 513–533 ° С. The only condition is that the PET pipe must be thick-walled, and it is necessary to heat it with a soldering iron a little later than the fitting. It is not recommended to load such a connection with a pressure of more than 5-6 atm.
