VAREM UO24 accumulator assembly sequence
Hello. In what order to assemble the VAREM UO24 expansion tank?
Andrei.
Expert Answer
Good day, Andrey.
The assembly of the VAREM UO24 expansion tank does not differ in complexity and occurs according to the same scheme as for other hydraulic accumulators:
- When replacing a damaged membrane, be sure to clean the inside of the tank from rust, then rinse and dry the container well to remove any moisture.
- Check for burrs or burrs on the surface of the flange that could harm the rubber “pear”. Found defects should be smoothed with a file or a scraper.
- If on the bottom of the new membrane there is a shank with holes, then for its fastening it is necessary to dismantle the valve that is used for pumping accumulator. To access it, remove the protective cover (it is screwed onto the external thread of the spool). After that, use the open-end wrench “12” or “13” to unscrew the nut that holds the valve, and then push it in and remove it from the tank.
- Insert the valve into the hole located on the shank and place the butyl rubber bulb in the accumulator.
- Fasten the valve with a standard nut (it is not necessary to install the protective cover yet).
- Spread the neck of the “pear” so that it is on the outer surface of the tank.
- Install the flange and secure it with the 6 screws from the accumulator kit. Tighten the fasteners evenly, crosswise.
- Inflate the expansion tank to operating pressure and replace the cap that protects the valve from dirt and debris.
After the accumulator is assembled, connect it to the heating system. In the future, do not forget to check the pressure in the air cavity of the tank - thereby you will not only ensure the correct operation of the device, but also increase the life of its membrane.
