Reasons for increased water consumption
Hello!
Counters began to wind 40 cubes of hot and about the same amount of cold water per month. We changed them, the plumber from the housing and communal services believed. A month passed - new counters also wrapped 40 cubes each. We rarely use water, we live together. What could be the problem if the counters are working?
Alexei.

Good afternoon, Alexey.
The fact that the situation with increased consumption remained even after replacing the meters suggests that the cause of the problem should be sought elsewhere - there is nothing to do with metering devices. First of all, check for water leaking into the toilet. As practice shows, it is the malfunction of the drain tank that causes increased water consumption in 90% of cases. In addition, faucets in the kitchen and bathroom can be a source of trouble. On the Web, you can find information that an unsuccessful design or wear of their internal parts led to the fact that even with the valve closed, water flowed from the cold line to the hot one (or vice versa). Given the fact that the pressure in the pipes even during the day can “jump back and forth” by several atmospheres, a similar factor can be considered a very probable cause of the problem.
To identify why metering devices began to record an increased flow rate, it is necessary to observe how the counter winds up - constantly or periodically. Today there is no need to sit at the device all day - modern video surveillance tools (for example, the simplest video recorder or webcam) allow you to automate the process of collecting information and analyze the situation in the shortest possible time.
