Arrow in the heating system why do we need

Hello!

The master, who makes heating in our house, said that we need to install a hydraulic needle. Since we have already gone beyond all conceivable budget limits, I would like to know what such an arrow is and what tasks its installation allows us to solve.

Kolya.

Answer

Good afternoon, Nikolai!

In the language of professional installers, a hydraulic arrow is a device for the hydraulic separation of the heating system circuits. In other words, this device allows you to balance individual heating branches and protect installed devices from heat shock.

In the heating system, the installation of a hydraulic separator makes it possible:

  • eliminate the hydrodynamic effect of one heating circuit on another. In systems with a hydraulic arrow, when you turn off or turn on individual circuits, the possibility of changing the hydrodynamic balance and temperature is excluded;
  • in the case of a small volume of coolant - increase the flow rate for other system circuits. In this case, the boiler piping is turned on by the first circuit, and the heating decoupling is turned on by the second;
  • due to small vertical flow rates - remove garbage from the coolant, playing the role of a settler;
  • create the necessary temperature head (set a certain temperature of the heated floor and at the same time send a hotter coolant to the heating of the indirect heating boiler);
  • remove air from the heating system, etc.

As you can see, with the help of this device it is possible to carry out any work on setting up the circuits and ensuring the correct operation of the heating system.

Most often, the installation of a hydraulic divider is required in buildings with an area of more than 200 square meters and a complex multi-circuit heating system. If your house falls under these conditions, then most likely the master is right and wants to do the best.

By the way, the issue of installing a hydraulic arrow has been repeatedly raised on the pages of our website, so you can get more detailed information and watch a video about the operation of the hydraulic arrow, for example, here: https://aquatech.tomathouse.com/en/otoplenie/kotelnaya/obvyazka-bojlera-kosvennogo-nagreva.html
