Heating scheme in a private house

Expert Answer

Hello Albert.

The scheme you presented is a classic way of dividing the flow of coolant into two heating branches. You can confidently talk about the health of such a system. But how effective it will be depends on several factors. Firstly, it is necessary to choose the right circulation pump - it must provide the required pressure and correspond to the design capacity. Secondly, it is necessary to analyze the system for hydraulic resistance and, accordingly, adjust the cross section of the main lines and the supply and return sections of each radiator. Thirdly, valves should be added to the circuit. If you manage to solve all these problems, then the heating system will be not only functional, but also economical.

In turn, I would like to give some recommendations.

  1. In the section up to the first tee (pressure line from the boiler), a pipe should be used, the diameter of which will be 1.5-2 times larger than on the supply line.
  2. A thermostatic valve should be installed on each radiator - this will allow you to adjust the temperature in each room separately, and, accordingly, save heat energy.
  3. Use the shut-off valves so that, if necessary, you can enable or disable this or that branch - this will make the system more flexible and give additional comfort and savings in the off-season.
  4. In your case, the branches of the heating system are asymmetrical, therefore, it is necessary to calculate the cross-section of the pipes in order to exclude the movement of the coolant along a shorter circuit. Perhaps, in order to reduce the flow, it will be possible to use the valve mentioned above.

In addition, we advise you to consult with specialists who install heating systems in your area. This will allow you to identify all the pitfalls and avoid mistakes that can subsequently become an obstacle to the normal operation of the heating.
