Why do the forks remain dirty even with a good housewife: 3 ways to wash them clean

The lateral surfaces of the teeth are the areas of the fork that are the most inaccessible to clean, on which dirt may remain even after washing. Over time, this will lead to plaque formation. At first, such a drawback will not be noticeable, but the microbes that remain on the surface of the cutlery can have a negative effect on human health. Salt and soda

If boiled contaminated cutlery is boiled in a solution of soda and salt, this will help soften the coating and its removal will not cause difficulties.

To prepare such a solution, take a suitable sized enameled glassware, pour 1 liter of water into it and add 2 tbsp to it. l salt and soda. Put dirty forks in a container with a solution, bring to a boil and keep on fire for no longer than 30 minutes. After that, rub the side surfaces of the teeth of the forks properly with any sponge without additional cleaning agents.

Detergent and metal washcloth

Conventional laundry detergent will also help remove serious soiling from the forks. The main thing is to use for this tool with a minimum amount of flavorings and other chemical additives. It is best to clean cutlery with detergent for baby clothes.

Add to 1 liter of hot water 1.5 tbsp. l powder and dip contaminated cutlery into the prepared solution. After 15-20 minutes, when the plaque softens, remove the forks and begin to pierce the metal washcloth with them. In this way, dirt will be easily brushed off the tooth flanks. If there is no metal washcloth at hand, use the hard side of a regular foam sponge to wash the dishes.

Laundry soap and soda

Instead of powder, you can use a no less effective combination of baking soda and laundry soap. To do this, grate 30 gr. soap, mix it with the same amount of soda and carefully dissolve this mixture in 1 liter of hot water. Dip dirty appliances in a hot solution, and after 15-20 minutes, clean them in any convenient way. To do this, you can use a simple sponge or a hard metal washcloth, as described in the previous paragraph.

Do not delay with cleaning the cutlery, waiting until a thick layer of dirty plaque appears on them. It is much more effective to carry out preventive washing of forks using one of the methods described above once every 2-3 weeks.
