Expert Answer
The pulsating water pressure in water supply systems with a pumping station indicates a malfunction of the hydraulic accumulator. Most often this happens due to depressurization of the rubber membrane (pear) or due to a critical pressure drop in the tank.
To find the cause of the malfunction, it is enough to open any flow valve several times. If at the same time the pump will turn on each time, then this is direct evidence that the accumulator does not accumulate water.
To establish whether the rubber bulb is intact is quite simple - just click on the valve spool located on the end of the tank. The air outlet together with water indicates a rupture of the membrane - in this case, the liquid under pressure will leak directly into the tank. To eliminate the breakdown, it is necessary to dismantle the connecting flange of the pressure tank and replace the bulb.
If the pressure in the accumulator drops, it is necessary to check the valve for leaks and restore the air in the tank using a compressor or air pump with a pressure gauge. In this case, it is necessary to disconnect the water pump from the network and open one of the supply valves. Manufacturers recommend pumping the tank with a pressure of 1.5-1.8 atm.
If the pump does not turn off when the valve is closed, this indicates a malfunction of the pressure switch. Try cleaning his contacts and setting the on-off mode. If these manipulations do not work, then boldly change the switching node assembly - after that, everything will work as it should!
