How to make a simple but effective do-it-yourself bleach for bedding

Purchased bleaches are very effective, but contain a lot of harmful chemicals and are expensive. Many housewives who care about the health of relatives and want to save money on the purchase of household chemicals, prefer to use environmentally friendly home composition. Do it yourself is not difficult.
When is the tool useful
The liquid gel from the components available in the kitchen will successfully replace a store preparation. It will cope with many defects no worse than a purchased product:
- oily stains from hand or face cream;
- colored stains on linen obtained during washing with a thing of bright colors;
- yellowness on sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases;
- stained sweat on underwear.
The use of bleach, made by yourself, will help restore the original whiteness of bedding, underwear and other textile products. The fabric loses its attractive appearance in the following cases:
- with too frequent or very rare washing;
- at the wrong temperature regime in the washing machine;
- when using low-quality or unsuitable for this type of fabric household chemicals;
- when stored indoors with high humidity.
The linen that is stored in the wardrobe for a long time and is not used often will turn yellow. Things that lodge in a basket with dirty clothes and home textiles quickly lose their appearance.
Knowing the cause of the pollution, the hostess selects the most suitable method of combating yellowness. Acetic-soda bleach is a universal remedy, reminiscent of washing powder in its action. It can be used for hand washing, as well as for pre-treatment of stubborn stains. We can use bleach in the washing machine. It is enough to fill it into the powder compartment.
Home bleach provides the following results:
- returns the linen to its original appearance;
- eliminates stains;
- enhances the brightness of color products, prevents the appearance of soap stains.
- disinfects
- creates the effect of an air conditioner (things after washing become softer);
- eliminates stubborn odors, including from deodorant or perfume.
It is safe to use a homemade product with a whitening effect for washing items from several types of fabrics. This applies to natural fibers made from linen or cotton, and to substitutes from rayon and polyester. Bleach "works" well for fluffy products - terry sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, towels, bathrobes.
The use of vinegar-soda gel is not recommended for delicate items made from:
- natural silk;
- lace;
- guipure;
- satin;
- chiffon;
- velvet.
Such products are exquisite and beautiful - they are capricious in care and require careful handling. It is not safe to use detergents containing acid or alkali for their washing.There is a risk of ruining the fabric and damaging the expensive item.
Essential ingredients and preparation
To prepare a safe home bleach, you need to stock up on the following:
- liquid detergent (soap or shampoo) - 250 ml;
- white vinegar - 125 ml;
- baking soda - 150-200 g;
- hot water - 700 ml.
To prepare the composition is suitable vinegar with a concentration of 9%. A distilled wine product is preferred.
Soap is diluted in hot water. Stir until smooth. Soda is added to the resulting solution and vinegar is added. The substance will turn out foamy, reminiscent of a gel. You can control its density by adding soda.
Store the resulting bleach in a tightly closed glass or plastic jar.
How to use
If home-made vinegar-soda detergent for bleaching clothes is used during hand washing, then adhere to the following sequence:
- Boil a bucket of water.
- Add homemade whitening product to boiling water. The amount used is determined by the appearance of the laundry. The more spots and stains, the more money will be required. For washing, take about 1 cup of the composition.
- The solution is thoroughly mixed. Immerse the laundry in it. Leave to cool water.
- Take things out of the cooled solution. Rinse thoroughly, changing the water several times. Squeeze and hang to dry.
You can bleach textiles with homemade gel, and can be machine washed. The process is carried out in stages:
- They put things in the drum of the washing machine. Pre-sort them by type of fabric and color brightness. It is not recommended to wash colored things with white - the colors fade. Cotton t-shirts with underwear also do not wash.
- Home gel is poured into the powder compartment. You will need to take at least ½ cup of the product.
- Choose the appropriate washing mode, determined by the type of fabric.
- Press the start button.
If things are very dirty, you will need to process problem areas before washing. A little gel is applied to them and left for 5-10 minutes. Then erase, as described above.
