How to connect the cuff (straight and eccentric) for the toilet?

The installation of the toilet requires some skill in work and quick installation, because this plumbing fixture cannot be out of use for a long time. Together with the efficiency of installation, it is necessary to pay attention to the quality of work, especially when connecting it to the sewer network. For a durable and tight connection of the outlet of the bowl with the pipe of the sewer system, a toilet cuff is used. It can be eccentric and corrugated.
Cuff discord
Polyethylene or polypropylene parts are complex in shape. The cuff represents two cylindrical surfaces connected together, but their longitudinal axes are shifted in relation to one another. Such an eccentricity is necessary when, when connected, the toilet outlet and the receiving pipe of the sewer pipe do not coincide. For different mounting options, a long cuff and a short cuff are available.
For information: the eccentric for the toilet performs the function of connecting the release of a plumbing device with a sewer inlet.
The versatility of the corrugated version is that it is applicable in extremely complex installation and connection options for the toilet. Corrugation can always be done maneuver in the bathroom area, mounting it at any angle, moving the sink to a convenient place.
Important: the use of a corrugated cuff is advisable only when performing the necessary slope.
Why change the cuff and how is it done?
There are cases of leakage of water from a water trap through the cuff or from under it. This can be detected while draining water from the drain tank. Perhaps there was a shift due to the skew of the tank, or maybe a crack appeared in the part itself. If there is no way to fix the malfunction with improvised means, you should act radically: change the cracked component.

Installing a toilet using an eccentric - an optimal solution when working with old communications and new generation toilets
Standard Replacement Procedure
- Both the toilet outlet and the inlet sewer pipe are cleaned until dust, cement residues, etc. disappear completely. The treated surfaces must also be dry.
- Special silicone sealant lubricates the entire perimeter of the cuff.
- One end of the cuff with a waterproofing seal fits effortlessly onto the toilet drain outlet. This is facilitated by a preliminary waterproofing treatment that protects the contact area from leaks. For better adhesion, sealant should solidify, and then continue work.
- The other end of the connector is inserted directly into the sewer.
By the way: not all experts use sealant to seal. It is believed that the cuffs are so perfect that they sit very tightly on the toilet.
Horizontal Discharge Toilet
- With the location of the socket of the sewer and the outlet of the toilet bowl on the same axis, you can use it to connect with a straight cuff. In case of mismatch of the levels of the two inputs, an eccentric toilet cuff is used.
Important! At the same time, the distance between the bell and the outlet should not be more than 5 cm.
- A cuff is put on the inlet of the shelf of an inverted tank from the end of a smaller diameter to a third of its length: the toilet neck and the distance between the ends are "packed" in the remaining 2/3 of the space. The work should be carried out when the tank float valve with a rigid connection is disconnected in advance, when removing the screws from the shelf and the tank cover.
- This remaining part is twisted “overturned” and then tightly put on the bell until its end is indicated. The cuff should be tightly strung on the neck of the toilet.
- Installation of the tank and the shelf is carried out with the subsequent connection of all previously dismantled parts. With a fully installed and, until the end of the fixed structure, the cuff is pulled from the nozzle of the shelf to the toilet outlet to the normal state.

Using the eccentric will allow you to place the toilet bowl as compactly as possible. If you use corrugation in this case, then the loss of space will be significant
What if the tank is low?
- A rubber cuff for the toilet is put on at the end of the attached shelf and is immediately fixed to it with a wire.
- The rubber part is inverted.
- An attached shelf is bolted to the toilet.
- A cuff is pulled onto the outlet of the sink.
- A pipe with a rubber tight connection is clamped by wire.
If the connection of the plumbing fixture with the sewage system is made correctly, then this guarantees the uninterrupted operation of the entire system without breakages and blockages.
