An effective way to clean the blockage in the sewer, the ingredients of which are in every kitchen
Now on sale a huge number of various chemicals designed to clean the sewer. But you can do without them. An equally effective method is the use of salt, soda and vinegar. Moreover, they are always at hand in any kitchen.
What is needed
To clean the sewer, you will need to prepare the following materials:
- a rag;
- salt - 200 g;
- baking soda or baking powder - 200 g;
- ordinary table vinegar - 150 ml;
- hot water.
Before starting direct cleaning, it is worth doing certain manipulations to increase the effectiveness of the product. If the sewage system is completely clogged or the drain is very slow, then do the following:
- Determine exactly where the blockage occurred. If there is at least a minimum drain, then you need to pay attention to the siphon, knee joints and turns. Typically, fat deposits and various debris accumulate in these places.
- If possible, remove large debris such as paper, hair, food waste. The product from salt, vinegar and soda is not very active, so it can not dissolve large mechanical impurities.
- Remove water from pipes as far as possible. It can be drained through the inspection hatch or a siphon hole in the sink using a hose.
- Work as a plunger. Differential pressure partially violates the dense layer. Thanks to this, the effect of the product will be achieved faster.
After the preparatory work, you can proceed to the use of soda and vinegar.
Preparation tool
After removing water from the pipes, the soda and salt are mixed. A homogeneous mass should be obtained so that dissolution occurs evenly. Then the mixture is poured into the siphon of the sink or bath.
Adding vinegar
Vinegar must be hot. So the reaction of substances will be more rapid, due to which a large amount of gases will be released in a few seconds, which will destroy the blockage. It is preliminarily put on fire and a lid is placed on the container to reduce the spread of odor. When it heats up to 70-80 degrees, you can fill it. After this, the hole must be covered with a rag for 30 minutes.
Rinsing with hot water
When half an hour has passed, the rag can be removed. After that, boiling water is immediately poured into the sink.
It is not always possible to clean the sewer with the help of such a tool the first time. In this case, the procedure is repeated. It is absolutely harmless to pipes.
This is a very easy and affordable method. Using simple ingredients, pretty much any blockage can be eliminated pretty quickly. In addition, this method does not require the use of special tools.
